Beverly has asked us to visit one blog we have never been to
before and to add a link so here is my submission:
http://gardenshoesonline.com/. Please welcome Teresa.

When my husband and I were flying from Jacksonville, Florida to the Chicagoland area this is what we saw out the airplane window Pink clouds. Doesn't it look like cotton candy a wee bit? I think I will open a Chunky Chocolate Bar and then have a Cherry Coke while I check out the other blogs to see what lovely Pink things have been posted. I would like to thank Beverly for being the hostess.

In Chicagoland area we are viewing gray skies one day after another. Here is an image which I took yesterday of sewer pipes steaming. It is hard to tell where the sky and the land separate.

Thinking Outside of the Box

In December, I was visiting the Roux Library, Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Florida. In my mind I saw this image and decided to capture it. Image was cropped but did not play with it in PhotoShop or any other program. Notice the rack of books and shelving which included a vision of lines horizontal and vertical. Look at the lower right hand corner, one will find grass and trees. Look straight at the photo, one can see window frames, natural lighting and tree limbs. The light bulb and even the wiring showed up in this image. I am always exploring light and shadows, hard and soft textures but in this image I succeeded in capturing what the library looks like inside and what is outside of the library building which was my goal.

Look at these Pink Glam-Gloves made for dish washing. Remember the days when women and their daughters would put on aprons and one would wash and the other would dry. Of course, along with the project came small talk, sharing of recipes, and then the telephone would ring. Now most everyone uses a dishwasher. I admit, I still hand wash dishes but put them on a wooden rack to dry.

Now that the dishes are all draining, I think I will grab a glass of sweet tea and go visit Pink Saturday sites.

Looks like everything is going to get wet and gray; but we have the promise of tomorrow. Lake Windigo, taken just before dark. This image came straight out of the camera this way. The only thing I did was to crop it.

Thank you Susan for being our hostess each week.

Last week-end, this area was experiencing snow and ice on roads plus temperatures dropping below freezing making traffic move even slower. I located this sign on a backroad by the Wheeling Water storage tank. I couldn't resist taking this shot to post for Outdoor Wednesday.

This girl stands knee deep in snow holding a blackboard saying "Drive Slow." I just love her red dress with white dots.

This is a close up. Notice her red bow in her hair and her white bow tied around her neck. Her hairstyle is simply charming. Her face speaks volumes.

Photograph of a Snow lady wearing a Pink wig.

Close-up of Snow lady wearing a Pink wig. Notice cranberries are used for mouth, nose and eyes instead of a pieces of coal and a carrot nose. We have about 10 inches of snow everywhere so the wildlife in the area are probably desperate for something to eat. Perhaps some of the cranberries have been eaten.

Here is the snow lady with her snowman sidekick wearing a baseball cap. Notice that the cap is turned sideways. I just laughed until my stomach hurt when I saw these snow people at a neighbor's house. Aren't these two adorable? Never saw anything like it. What next?
Think I will go hunt up some dried cranberries, make a spot of Constant Comment tea, and then go look at other blogs who have posted Pink things. See you next time. Thanks for stopping by.

1/13/2010 Outdoor Wednesday - #53

While I was down at Lake Michigan looking for snow shots, this person came running by. It was cold, very cold. The street lights were on. All was quiet. I stopped taking pictures of windows and ice and took this image instead.

In the large parking lot at Home Depot, Middleburg, Florida, I saw this unique Pink sign. Ladies and Gentlemen, don't be in a hurry now and just park those shopping carts any old place. Home Depot offers a grand corral. Round those carts up and push them in one by one until there is a whole row of shopping carts. Wahoo!

Skywatch Friday - Season 4 Episode 26

Thanks to the skywatch team who are: Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise, and Sylvia for all your hard work in making SkyWatch Friday possible.

Howdy Folks! This is my first image posted for Skywatch Friday in January, 2010.
Recently, my husband and I were on a mission at Home Depot, Middleburg, Florida. John went inside the store to find a paddle for testing series mini-lights. The paddle is used to figure out why certain lights on the string of Christmas lights would not go on. Meanwhile, I stayed outside to do a bit of shooting with the camera. My camera is always with me. Out in the large parking lot, I found these landscaping tools: shovels and rakes reaching for the sky. I thought now that is a mighty interesting and different shot even if it is a gray day.
John didn't find what he needed. So, off to Ace Hardware in Middleburg, Florida. Ace was just down the road from Home Depot. Luckily, Ace Hardware had more than two testers in stock. We purchased the paddle and went back to Orange Park near the St. John's River where we were staying with long-time friends for awhile in December, 2009.
Happy New Year from my blog to your blog.
What I learned on this trip: Write down towns, dates, time of day, name of places visited.

Cooking Tip: How to keep bread warm

Cooking Tip: Crinkle several pieces of aluminum foil then place these at the bottom of what one would use for a bread server. Then wrap either cloth or paper towels over the warm bread and over the foil. Perhaps this will help keep the bread warm for dinner guests.

1/06/2010 Outdoor Wednesday #52

This week I am posting photographs taken at Lake Hollingsworth, Lakeland, Florida, December, 2009.

Photograph One: Four trees in Lake Hollingsworth, Lakeland, Florida. Did you notice the fall colors?

Photograph Two: I found this interesting pier. Honestly, I have never seen a dock like this anywhere before. Did you notice there are more autumn colors in the background.

Photograph Three: Close-up of palm tree growing sideways. The trip to visit Lakeland, Florida was a nice day; but turned cloudy. The next four days it rained, and rained and rained some more during our visit to Orlando, Florida area in 2009. We have been lucky in previous years because it has always been sunny and warm for our visits.
Click here if you would like to participate: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com. I would like to thank Susan. She works hard every week, day-in and day-out, all year long so that we might participate by posting for Outdoor Wednesday.

Pink Saturday - January 2, 2010

Photograph: Pink Flamingos, St. Augustine, Florida, December, 2009. Notice they are made out of coconuts.

Greetings and Salutations! Every January, I write down 12 goals. That means every month I need to check off a list what goals have been completed. The goals can be as simple as reading a book, going on a trip, or keeping in touch with old friends. My project this year is to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop CS4 program. If I could learn just the basics I would be a happy camper. Gulp!
Think I will pour some eggnog into a glass and munch on some homemade fudge while looking at some Pink items posted on How Sweet The Sound. If you would like to join in the fun click here: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/. Thank you Beverly for being the hostess each week.
Happy New Year from our house to your house.
