Skywatch Friday - Season 6, Episode 11

Cornfield and blue sky, Hayward Lakes Area, Wisconsin - Fall 2012.

I didn't hear a thing.   Got up and discovered it had rained last night.  I noticed the sand was not dry but dark red in color and then I noticed the delicious smell of fall.   It is my favorite season of them all.   Yes, I put a sweatshirt on to keep warm but I can always take it off if I get too hot.    Yes, the trees are changing color and have been for about a month.   Each day one tree tries to out do the tree standing next to it.   Fall is like 4th of July fireworks except there isn't the noise .....trees do the changes quietly.  I love seeing all the farmland with the animals, the different shaped barns painted in all different colors red, blue, green.   I love seeing the old silos with a flag sticker near the top and the new blue silos all standing in a row. When I enter a county highway, there isn't rush hour, no cars to the left and no cars to the right.   Most of all I noticed how close the clouds look ... like I could reach out and touch them.  It feels like I am in heaven right now!

Thanks for visiting.   Hope you will come back.   Meanwhile, take care.   See you next time.

Howdy folks!    I noticed this sprinkling can tipped over so just couldn't resist taking this photograph and then sharing it online.    Next time we meet it will officially be fall.    Where did the Summer go?

I have driven by this scene for how many years?    Too many to count.   I never saw this one lonely tree standing out in a cornfield before until just a few days ago.    I put this image in my to do list.   So here it is folks.

I appreciate the farmers who prepare the soil in the spring and plant the seeds and then the rains come and the sun shines and then finally corn is harvested.     Isn't it amazing how the cloud coverage and the blue sky were out the day I took this shot.

This quiet serene spot I am thankful for.   It is priceless!

I dedicate this photograph to my grandchild, Charles.

Close-up of Stove

Egg Carton burning in an outside fire.  FYI:   Egg carton is not made of styrofoam.

Top two photos were taken at Gene's Used Furniture and Antiques, Gene Hause, Prop., W14337, Hwy. 8, Weyerhaeuser, Wisconsin 54885

Yesterday it was in the 80s here in the Mid-west.    It was suppose to be sunny but the day altered from gray skies, to looking like it would rain and then the sun would perk up our hearts in believing that yes, it was still summer after all and then it would turn gray again.   I got up this morning and was greeted with a another gray day.   mmmmm, wonder when it will be sunny and bright again?     This area does need rain to prepare the trees, shrubs and flowers for the winter.   Rain?    Sun?   Either way, it is out of my hands.

Last night I watched a movie entitled, I WAS A MALE WAR BRIDE starring Cary Grant and
Ann Sheridan.  This movie was made in 1949 and directed by Howard Hawkes.   Read about all the health issues of the crew, how production was postponed and Cary Grant came out saying "the best comedy I've ever done."   http://www.tcm.com/this-month/article/62604%7C12760/I-Was-a-Male-War-Bride.html

Horse drawn carriage.

I tightly cropped this photograph because there is a lot of modern buildings all around the photograph of the horse drawn carriage.   Look at that blue sky.   Summer is almost over.   I see leaves on the ground and when I open the front door and go outside it smells of fall.

Thinking Outside The Box

Looks like a crop circle found in England but it is really just black sand integrated with Wisconsin sandy soil.   How did this happen?    Well, lizard aquariums need to be cleaned once and awhile.   The time was now.  My son just dumped the lizard waste right onto the driveway.  I like how the magic wand showed up in the image.   mmm, thinking Harry Potter......are you.....I am.
