September 28, 2016 - Outdoor Wednesday - #403 - Hayward Fall Festival

Greetings and Salutations!   If you would like to view Outdoor Themes click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/.  Thank you Susan for being the hostess.

Sandy, Laurie, Camille and I went to the Fall Festival in Hayward, Wisconsin over the week-end.   I saw this balloon scarecrow made to look like a Cane Cheerleader (their high school football team is called Canes).  As I was shooting this photo, a cheerleader actually came by to talk with me.  She told me that it was A OK to post this image on Facebook so I did.

I was astonished that mums were growing on top of jeans and I thought how creative it was to wrap a scarf around where a person's waist would be.

Foggy morning disappeared.  The day warmed up but never rained for the Fall Fest.

I can't believe how summer passed by so fast.  Cooler days and nights are here. Maple trees and sumac are changing.  Welcome Fall.   Soon rain will turn to snow. And so it is.

September 9, 2016 - SkyWatch Friday - Cabin on a Road Less Traveled - Quote - St. Augustine - Wonder

Storms were rolling into the area.   We are pretty much socked in for several days; but the skies are awesome. Daytime brought sunny skies in the afternoons but experienced high humidity even though it is only in the 70s.

September 5, 2016 - Thinking Outside the Box - Tractor - Quote - Mother Teresa - Happy to do work

Alex, our grandchild drove us (John, my husband, our older son named Johnny)to Bar-H-Implement, in Stone Lake, Wisconsin to have a chain sharpened so we could use the saw. While they were inside at Bar-H-Implement, I walked around the grounds and took some photographs.  I am still wondering who painted these numbers on the tractor and why?

Afterward, Johnny and Alex sawed firewood to use in the fire pit on cooler nights. A 60 mile an hour wind came through our area this summer.  We lost nine trees in the forest.  Luckily, we did not suffer any damage to the cabin, garage or out buildings.  We are blessed.
