Quote 566 Norman Vincent Peale

"One way can be learned by starting to see the magic in everything.   Sometimes it seems to be hiding but it is always there.  The more we can see the magic in one thing, a tiny flower, a mango, someone we love, then the more we are able to see the magic in everything and in everyone.  Where does the mango stop and the sky begin?"

Quote 560 Anne Lamott

"Gorgeous, amazing things come into our lives when we are paying attention:  mangoes, grandnieces, Bach, ponds.  This happens more often when we have as little expectation as possible.  If you say, "Well that's pretty much what I thought I'd see." you are in trouble.   At that point you have to ask yourself why you are even here.   Astonishing material and revelation appear in our lives all the time.  Let it be.  Unto us so much is given.  We just have to be open for business."
...Anne Lamott

Quote 556 Yoda, Star Wars

"There is no try, there is only do."
...Yoda, Star Wars

I remember when I was in my 30s, after being interviewed and hired for a job, I said, "I'll try to do my best."

Boss said, "There is no try, there is only do."

I can not remember for the life of me if that was before seeing the movie Star Wars or after.   Regardless, that quote has stuck in my brain.

Ground Hog Day Celebration

Click here to find out why:

For year's a group of us would celebrate Ground Hog's Day.    I remember playing pin the tail on the ground hog and a ground hog puppet being honored at Gulliver's Pizza on Howard Street, Chicago.   We even had a secret ground hog greeting.  It all started with a friend named George.  He celebrated after work with one group and later started another group which included John and I.   So, one party became two parties.  The groups just mulitplied until one day George and John suffered from ill health.   It was sad when four people met at Gulliver's for the last time for a Ground Hog Day pizza.

We now are grateful for those friends we have and the memories we shared together which we will cherish forever.

From our house to your house we wish you a HAPPY GROUND HOG'S DAY!
