12/01/2014 - Thinking Outside The Box - Quote - Mary Stevenson - Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

This shot was taken in front of a sunflower field.   In picasa I cropped it, changed the background a bit and then chose a frame.   Sometimes, it is just "fun" playing with an image.

I decided to post this really weird glass block windows photograph, which I took with a Nokia Lumia 520 camera and then cropped in Picasa.    Notice sections of blue skies, golden skies and then gray skies all in one moment.   eerie......Happy Halloween.

10/29/2014 - Outdoor Wednesday - #303 - Morning Glory

Howdy Folks!   If you would like to view Outdoor Themes click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/.   Thank you Susan for being our hostess.

Morning Glory - my husband's favorite flower.   This is one of the last blooms for this year.  It was in the 70's today.  Soon it will be in the 50's and then the 40's and the weather will probably drop from there.   My husband and I were out today enjoying one of the last few warm days.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

10/22/2014 - Quote - Steve Jobs - Creativity

"Creativity is just connecting things.  When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they really didn't do it, they just saw something,  It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things."
~ Steve Jobs

Howdy Folks!   If you would like to view Outdoor Themes click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/.  Thank you Susan for being the hostess.

This is what Midwestern Farmlands look like in the Fall.   I love how one tree looks like fireworks....one outdoing the tree standing next to the other tree.   I love how barren tilled land looks and how green other sections look.   I love how hay is rolled up and stored.   I love how the clouds look so close that a person could just reach up and touch them.   I love everything about Fall.

10/14/2014 - Outdoor Wednesday - #301 - Van Bergen House

Howdy Folks!   If you would like to view Outdoor Themes click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/.   Thank you Susan for being the hostess.

Road was closed to traffic on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5 A.M. until 7 P.M.

Historic John S. Van Bergen (Associate Architect of Frank Lloyd Wright) built this house in 1927 for James Irving at 1318 Isabella Street, Wilmette, Illinois.

People gathered to watch this historical event take place.   Some arrived with their pet dogs.   Others came with their cameras.   Still others drove by in their vehicles.

Preservationist Chris Eneck, a member of the Skyline Council-the junior board of Landmarks Illinois has been lobbying hard to keep the Van Bergen house from facing the wrecking ball since February, 2012.

This is a photograph of two story frame and stucco building with three bedrooms.

Signs, tree limbs, electric lights had to be removed.  Overhead utility lines had to be dealt with and permits were needed.

This Prairie School house is being parked at Whole Foods - Parking Lot at Green Bay Road and Isabella, Evanston, Illinois, until its second move.

Anyone want to purchase the land and build their own dream house?
