What an adventure I had today. My friend, Susan Andrews had tickets and asked me to be her guest to attend two events at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, Illinois. First we enjoyed seeing the International Fair of Contemporary and Modern Art.

After we had lunch, we attended the second event. We arrived at just the right time at the International Antiques Fair to enjoy a cupcake. Many others were enjoying a toast of champagne to celebrate the British Royal Wedding .

This image was taken at the Chicago Botanical Gardens. Since St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and this flower was Pink, I go Oh My Gosh this image works for the post today. And so it is.

6/24 Outdoor Wednesday - #24

Hello. It is time to post Outdoor Wednesday photographs. My focus this week is on patterns. Umbrella is made of light colored fabric; but the orange color underneath was an unexpected surprise.

Umbrella close-up, taken a few minutes later. Notice that the lighting changed. Sunlight and shadows dancing on fabric created this image.

Close-up photograph of a solitary leaf. Notice the rich green tones and the golden spots creating an abstract image.

Close-up of another leaf. Notice the intricate veins, the round circles and green earthy tones which make up this abstract image.

Bottom two images were taken at Chicago Botanical Gardens, Glencoe, Illinois.
