August 18, 2019 - SkyWatch Friday - 13 FT by 9 IN - Evanston, IL

Greetings and Salutations!

13 Feet by 9 IN - Evanston, IL - IMG3860B

How odd?  One frame has a cloud in it.  The other frame has a tree in it; but minus the rain clouds.  Notice an eyeball separates the two frames.

Quote:

"A bit of advice, don't copy nature too closely.  Art is an abstraction; as you dream amid nature, extrapolate art from it, and concentrate on what you will create as a result."

November 16, 2016 - Outdoor Wednesday - #410 - Errands - Quote - Leigh Hunt

Greetings and Salutations!   If you would like to see Outdoor Themes from all over the world click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/.  Thank you Susan for being our hostess.

I was doing errands today like go get a blood test, get the flu shot, buy Dunkin Donut coffee which is on sale at Walgreen's.  These are the photographs I took while marking things to do off my list.

Pre-Schoolers hand prints.  Shows inside the classroom window and outside the window.

Sunset yesterday.

I was at Walgreen's waiting to get my flu shot.  I looked around and noticed this quote on the wall.  How true it is!  It is definately a reminder to be grateful for our health.  And so it is.

3/18/2016 - SkyWatch Friday - St. Patrick's Day - Sunset 3182016B

Howdy Folks!   If you would like to view skies from all over the world click here: http://skyley.blogspot.com/.  Our SkyWatch hosts are:  Yogi, Sylvia and Sandy.

Yesterday we ate Corned Beef and Cabbage to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.   Then I grabbed my car keys, drove up to a favorite spot of mine to capture the sunset.  Would of.   Could of.  Didn't.  Time element was off a wee bit.  But ... look what the camera saw.  Night time the park comes alive.

"The first question I tell students to ask in the first critique of a class is not is the work good but is it alive?"

3/9/2016 - Outdoor Wednesday - # 374 - "L" Train, Central Street Station, Evanston, Illinois - Quote - Wassily Kandinsky - Train Eye and Soul

Central Street "L" Station, Evanston, Illinois-March, 2016.

I am blessed.   My husband goes on photo shoots with me.   He is the driver. I was able to hop out and take this image at the red light. Every time at this spot I was walking or driving alone, no one was on the platform. Today I was lucky.  Yes, the camera captured the solitary figure waiting for a train versus the busyness of wires, stop and go lights and the parking sign.  Even the sky played along....notice one side is white and the other side is blue.  How odd?

"The artist must train not only his eye but also his soul."

Pink Saturday - January 16, 2010

Click here to view other blogs who have posted Pink things: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/.
I would like to thank Beverly for being the hostess for Pink
Saturday.

Photograph of a Snow lady wearing a Pink wig.

Close-up of Snow lady wearing a Pink wig. Notice cranberries are used for mouth, nose and eyes instead of a pieces of coal and a carrot nose. We have about 10 inches of snow everywhere so the wildlife in the area are probably desperate for something to eat. Perhaps some of the cranberries have been eaten.

Here is the snow lady with her snowman sidekick wearing a baseball cap. Notice that the cap is turned sideways. I just laughed until my stomach hurt when I saw these snow people at a neighbor's house. Aren't these two adorable? Never saw anything like it. What next?
Think I will go hunt up some dried cranberries, make a spot of Constant Comment tea, and then go look at other blogs who have posted Pink things. See you next time. Thanks for stopping by.

Rain, Sleet and Snow

Sign at Lake Michigan shoreline.

I took this photograph by shooting through car windshield before wipers were turned on. As ice melted and slid down window, camera caught this reaction. Background are trees and a canal. Image taken near Baha'i Temple, Wilmette, Illinois.

It snowed here again Sunday. Bike image was taken near Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
