Skywatch Friday - Season 4 Episode #14

Welcome back. This week I am posting a sunset that looks like the sky is on fire. Isn't it amazing how the sky changes from moment to moment? I never seem to tire of simple pleasures like the smell of water, the sound of leaves crunching under my feet as a walk a path, or just listening to my breath. It is great to be alive!

Thanks to the skywatch team who are Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Sylvia. Click here http://skyley.blogspot.com if you would like to participate or view other sites who have posted skies from all over the world. See you next week.

Monday, October 11, 2010 - Outside The Box Images

It has been awhile since I posted images called outside the box. Here are two. Subject shot are car/truck windows. By the way, the windows are not broken; it just appears that way. Photographs were shot in color; but were changed to black and white format. I am exploring shooting reflections. These were the outcome.

Skywatch Friday - Season 4 Episode #13

Why is posting for Skywatch Friday so important to me? Perhaps skywatching became a passion for me while visiting the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California. I remember walking up steep metal stairs to view a planet through a telescope there. I actually saw the rings around Saturn. Perhaps that is when skywatching became a passion for me.

If you would like information regarding the Griffith Observatory click here: http://www.griffithobs.org/.

Here is a photograph of a winding road with trees like fireworks each tree was trying to be prettier than the next. This glorious view was taken on Highway 70 in the Hayward Lakes Area in the state of Wisconsin. Nature always surprises me.

This post may be late: but I did meet my goal of posting a skywatch shot this week. Better late than never. Thanks to the skywatch team who are Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and Sylvia. Stone Lake, Wisconsin population of 544 at the 2000 census holds a Cranberry Festival the first week-end of October. There are Craft Vendors, Tours of Cranberry Bogs, Crate Derby, and more. Here are some photographs I took of a Cranberry Bog being flooded.

Photograph One: Zawistowski Cranberry Bogs Sign, Stone Lake, Wisconsin.

Photograph Two: One part of cranberry bog was flooded the other part has cranberries floating. Notice fall color is in background.

Photograph Three: Close-up of Cranberries floating in water.

Photograph Four: Cranberries floating in water plus a cranberry plant. Here are two sites that you can find information about this fest, just in case you would like to attend next year: http://stonelakewi.com and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Lake,_Wisconsin. And that's all folks for now. See you all later.
