Thinking Outside The Box - Paper Stained and Crumbled

"Hennessy began studying an oddly shaped stain on the wall.  It was just above the dormant radiator.   For some reason, he found that he was becoming an expert on wall and door stains.   They were a sort of art form, he had decided --- water, varnish, blood --- the art of the unintentional.   There were important messages that time had etched in wood and plaster if you made the effort to look for them.  And they never let you down or expected more from you than you could give."

Quote - Rumer Godden - 4 Rooms - Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual

"There is an Indian proverb or axiom that says that everyone is a house with four rooms, a physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual.   Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are not a complete person."

March 22, 2014 - Pink Saturday - Pink Bows on Lawn Ornaments

Howdy Folks!   If you would like to participate or view PINK things click here:   Thank you Beverly for being
the hostess.

Last Saturday, a girl friend and I, went shopping at some thrift stores and consignment shops.   Look what I found a cow and a calf wearing you guessed it PINK bows.   Since it was near St. Patrick's Day, I noticed that the stand was green.   So, I asked the owner of the store if I could take a picture of the cows outside and she granted permission.

Normally, I post photographs as is in the camera except for cropping but this time I couldn't resist.   So, I fooled around with the background and foreground until it was PINK too.   What fun I had using Picasa.

Skywatch Friday March 20, 2014 Edition

Howdy folks!   If you would like to view skies from all over the world click here:   Skywatch Friday hosts are:   Yogi, Sylvia and Sandy.

Lake Michigan a few days ago.   Noticed that the lake was green.  Snow was frozen ice.  I was afraid to walk closer to get the photograph.  I am blessed to be able to see this blue sky while the wind tore my hood off my head so many times and it was very, very cold.   Today it was in the 40s.   Warmer tomorrow. Then cold spell sets in for the week-end.   I saw some bulbs peeking through the ground where the sun shines on that side all day.   Where the shade hits the yard, we still have piles of snow.   I may take a shovel this week-end and move some snow to the other side of the yard so it will melt.   Or perhaps I will just leave it melt.  Whatever.   Will decide over the week-end.

Quote - Raymond Steiner - What can be

"Show me please the light at the end of the tunnel.   Show me yet once again how beauty can nourish my inner beauty.  Don't show me what is, show me what can be, and how I might get there - even if only in my mind - as I lose myself in painting, a musical score, a poem or photograph."

I walked on snow layered with ice and the wind blew my hood off and my hair covered my eyes but I still captured these sunset photographs.   I walked back to my car alone.   I was afraid I would fall and no one would find me for days.   I was lucky that I had a cell phone with me.   I was lucky my car would start because it was so cold.  I am blessed.

Thinking Outside The Box - Window

My grandchild and I spent a day with each other recently.    He wanted to have a sub sandwich for lunch.  I happened to notice this dirty window within the strip mall.  Stopped and took the shot.   What a gift from the universe.  Looks like a contemporary painting to me.
