Sky Watch #55

Up in Northern Wisconsin my husband and I hear the sound of the loon first thing in the morning and the last thing in the evening. We don't hear cars and trucks whizzing by on a tollway. Instead we hear the sound of trees stirring in the wind; we see the clouds moving across the sky; and we breathe in the clear air and drink from artesian well water. Someone has to do it. It might as well be us.

7/29 Outdoor Wednesday - #29

Here in the Hayward Lakes area one day it is only 62 degrees. Another day, it feels so hot that it feels like my brains are going to be fried. This area hasn't had a good farmer's rain since May except for the last few days. The sun would be out, it would get grey and stormy looking then it would rain. How in the whole this wildflower survived the drought is beyond me. This flower looks like a morning glory. I see them twisting around wildflowers everywhere.

My son took me on some backroads in Wisconsin. Indentation on this boulder appears to be an ancient Indian ancestor.

Here are some Cave dwellings in Wisconsin that look like those in Iran.

Look we even found some Cave paintings like in France.

We also saw a monolith in the shape of a "T" in the northwoods like in Ireland.

Pink Saturday, July 25, 2009

Good morning, Ladies! Can you help me identify what kind of plant this is?

Horrors of horrors! Our vacuum coffee pot leaked big time all over the counter recently. What a mess! Since my husband, John, drinks coffee intravenously, I went to Blain's Farm and Fleet in Rice Lake, Wisconsin that day and purchased a Hamilton Beach Brew Station. The Brew Station brews 12 cups, yes I did say 12 cups of coffee. Then the extra nice thing about this coffee station is that it does not have a glass carafe to break, to store and to find. If you need a new coffee pot, I would recommend this one.

Since it is raining here, I think I will go get a cup of "joe" settle in and check out other sites that has a Pink theme at: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/.

7/22 Outdoor Wednesday #28

This week for Outdoor Wednesday I decided to post three photographs of a recent Niagara Falls trip. Tourists stood elbow-to-elbow behind this rusty, curled metal fencing material to view the Falls.

The Falls from another angle.

This red winged Blackbird had the best view.

Pink Saturday July 18, 2009

Howdy folks! A whole week has gone by and here it is Pink Saturday again. I always look forward to viewing the choices people make and post on their blogs. Here is my contribution. I ran into a woman who had participated in riding a Harley motorcycle for cancer. She drove the Harley for 200 miles and had just ate breakfast. She was tired and wanted to get home to sleep. The Abate Wisconsin group sure helps cancer patients.

Think I'll put on the tea kettle and have a spot of hot Pekoe tea because it is rather chilly here and then visit other sites that has a Pink theme at: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/.

Thematic Photographic #58 Odd

While visiting Cedar Mall, located in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, I noticed this rust stain. I was fascinated that it looked like five(5) skyscrapers or like Stonehenge. Notice the circle and the ledge. I thought, this is pretty odd. What do you think it looks like?

If you would like to post a image that is odd on blogspot click here: http://writteninc.blogspot.com/2009/07/thematic-photographic-58-odd.html.

SkyWatch Friday #52

This building caught my eye. Empty shed is located on a field near Stone Lake, Wisconsin. Jackpot! Today, the clouds came into the empty frame of the building which stands on a hill. Notice tire tracks in grass, the branch which fell during a violent wind storm and from the road it looks like there are three crosses in the background.

Thematic Photographic 57 - Distant

This photograph was taken near Conway, New Hampshire. Notice: no houses as far as the eye can see. The clouds appear to be so close that a person feels like one could reach up and touch a cloud. Nature greets everyone who visits the scenic White Mountains. Do you see a bridge in the distance?

If you would like to post a image that shows distant on blogspot click here: http://writteninc.blogspot.com/2009/07/thematic-photographic-57-distant.html.

7/8 Outdoor Wednesday #26

Here are some shots taken at the Oriental and Lotus Gardens which was my favorite part of Wickham Park.
Here is a close-up of statue in image above.

An inspiration place for prayer or meditation.

This is a place to kneel and pray.

I thought this was a very peaceful scene. For more information go to www.Wickhampark.org.
