1/29 Outdoor Wednesday - #264
Saw this scene. I parked the car, grabbed my camera and then walked with cars zooming by because I was on a Florida tollway. When I reached the overpass, a police helicopter rushed over my head, I actually ducked out of reflex not because I had to. Then this white bird landed in the marsh to obtain its fish dinner or perhaps an alligator would have it for dinner.
The third surprise was this private plane coming right at me. I had the decision to duck and run but instead I stood my ground and took the shot afraid or not, I did it! Then it was more walking back to the car, where my husband was waiting patiently. That night we ate fresh ocean fish, it was delicious!

ReplyDeleteTo your question about the old Adersleben-Abbey:
The Cistercian abbey was founded in 1260.
The Church built 1952-57.
1806, the monastery was dissolved.
It has been cultivated as a farm.
In the GRD it was a state farm and lived farmers in the adjacent buildings.
Since the collapse of the GRD it is crumbling and deserted.
The church is still used for religious services, in it is very nice. (Have photos on my blog here:

PS: I meant 1752-57, not 1952, the church built.
