California fires are affecting our weather. How? Skies are not blue. Lakes are calm and gray looking. A silence exists in the forest. Some people can actually smell the smoke in the air. Here is a photograph of Musky Bay on Lac Court Oreilles, Stone Lake, Wisconsin.

It's amazing how far reaching the smoke is. During my trip to Yellowstone during the still mornings I swear I could smell the smoke. Of course they had smaller fires in the park as well as the carryover from further west.
