Carol, It was a beautiful day. A family uses the shade of the tree. Sunflowers are facing the tree. It just goes to show you a tree can be lonely even in a crowd.
I used a Neil Gaiman sentence in my newsletter, the opening line of The Graveyard Book, "There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a knife." Happy Halloween! Plus, I just visited another Wisconsin distillery: 45th Parallel in New Richmond. Yum!

Carol, wishing you a wonderful weekend.
DeleteA majestic tree but it gave me a small sense of loneliness - hoping the sunflower field was good company for it.
ReplyDeleteAlana, I felt that feeling also.
Deletelove the beautiful blue sky and clouds - tree does look lonely

Delete...Joyce, I like that windswept pine. Have a wonderful weekend,
ReplyDeleteTom, it is definitely "windswept." Nothing to protect the tree from the wind, snow or ice. What a strong pine it is to survive.
DeleteA great photo for Skywatch!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and comment on my blog

DeleteGorgeous shot!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Have a great weekend.
DeletePretty photo, but oddly shaped tree. Looks like the main trunk was chopped off. Lightning, perhaps?
ReplyDeletePerhaps. It is the only thing around except a bar/restaurant.
