SkyWatch Friday - Summer is to Far Away - Quote - Paul Gauguin - Magical Harmony
IMG3984B - Summer is to Far Away
Quote:
"A given arrangement of colors, lights and shadows produces an impression. This is what we might call the music of painting. Often you are seized by the magical harmony before you even know what the subject of a painting is, as when you enter a cathedral and you are to far away from the painting to make it out clearly."
~ Paul Garguin

ReplyDeleteCapturing the mood of ships ashore which should be out to sea isn't always so easy. The mood of the sky helped bring this image together.
DeleteSpeaking of music, I've had such earworms in my head lately. As an artist, I had trouble enjoying the harmony of my work because it was never perfect. I'd see the earworms. Thanks for stopping by my blog again! You've been missed.
ReplyDeleteI've missed seeing your blog. Life interrupted again. My adult son is in ICU because he had open heart surgery. I am trying to stay focused and centered.
DeleteI can remember many wonderful evenings pulling my canoe out of the water as the sun set . . . and sometimes after it set.
ReplyDeleteWe would tie our fishing boat up after dark. Miss those days. Trying to let go and walk alone now.
DeleteGreat quote, Awesome click.
