Thinking Outside the Box - Egg Contemporary May, 2025 - Quote - Fran Kafka - Meditation
IMAGE 2705
Quote:
"You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen.
Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary.
The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice,
it will roll in ecstasy at your feet."
~ Fran Kafka

Napkin with Heart May, 2025

"If the communication is perfect, the words have life,
and that is all there is to good writing, putting down on the paper

Trail Marker Trees and Art Gallery of Dennis Downes
"I cannot separate what I do
from who I am."
...Dennis Downes
Dennis Downes, a watercolor artist, had an exhibit at The Grove, Glenview, IL. On Sunday, April 5th, I felt priviledged to have seen his work. According to his brochure, Mr. Downes creates his own paper from native grasses and his original paintings are displayed in homemade frames using porcupine quills and glass bead inlays.
At the entrance to the Lake Country Discovery Museum, Mr. Downes has on display a 16 foot bronze sculpture, TRAIL MARKER TREE.

"I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape — the loneliness of it — the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn't show. I think anything like that — which is contemplative, silent, shows a person alone — people always feel is sad. Is it because we've lost the art of being alone?"
