Pink Saturday
Hop on over and see what is featured on other sites that has a pink theme at: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/.
This week, John, my husband, was scheduled for an appointment with a dietitian at Evanston Hospital (State of Illinois). He had a heart attack January 28, 2008. Four stents were put in his clogged veins. He had one stent fail. Three months later to the exact day, he had two more stents put in. He calls himself the six pack now. This year he is having a lot of follow-up doctor appointments. Seeing the dietitian is necessary for him to address losing weight, as well as, controlling his blood glucose level by counting carbohydrates. I tagged along because I am responsible for cooking most of the meals.

Who brings their camera along when going to a hospital? I do. While waiting for the elevator, I noticed in the gift shop window these cute bunnies with pink ribbons.
My focus is to come up with a pink item every Saturday. I never saw pink in the universe before. Now I see pink things everywhere. This is an eye opening experience. Thank you Beverly for being the hostess for Pink Saturday.

This stairwell looks so drab. This building is just left abandoned. Screens are torn and windows are broken while the owner doesn't seem to care. Notice the "No Smoking Sign" over the left doorway. Enter at your own risk trespassers.

When the garbage was picked up, I noticed that frozen water had collected at the bottom of the trash can. I tapped on the plastic garbage can, and broken shards of ice fell upon the ground. I took some pictures of ice pieces scattered helter skelter. Then it hit me. Pick up one shard of ice and take an image. This is what came out. Decided to post this image for Outdoor Wednesday.

Blue Sky with clouds shaped like a Duck.
Changed color to yellow which accentuates the duck shaped cloud.
Does everyone have their ducks in a row? Easter is around the corner or is a duck around the next cloud you look at? I have never seen a duck in cloud form before. Have you?

I used a similar phone during a summer spent on a farm in the 50s. Folks in the area had different rings instead of telephone numbers. One long and one short ring was allocated for one family. Two short and one long ring identified another family. Each family would say, "I can't remember how many rings" so everyone would answer the phone. Folks could exchange news, use the telephone for emergencies or just talk. Party lines was the norm; private lines I don't think existed in the rural areas at the time.

Shooting through a transparent window created this mysterious image. Three figures appeared to be standing in front of trees and snow covered ground. Believe me, figures were not there. Frozen droplets were on window not my lens. Sometimes, the camera sees something we don't.
