This week, John, my husband, was scheduled for an appointment with a dietitian at Evanston Hospital (State of Illinois). He had a heart attack January 28, 2008. Four stents were put in his clogged veins. He had one stent fail. Three months later to the exact day, he had two more stents put in. He calls himself the six pack now. This year he is having a lot of follow-up doctor appointments. Seeing the dietitian is necessary for him to address losing weight, as well as, controlling his blood glucose level by counting carbohydrates. I tagged along because I am responsible for cooking most of the meals.
Who brings their camera along when going to a hospital? I do. While waiting for the elevator, I noticed in the gift shop window these cute bunnies with pink ribbons.
My focus is to come up with a pink item every Saturday. I never saw pink in the universe before. Now I see pink things everywhere. This is an eye opening experience. Thank you Beverly for being the hostess for Pink Saturday.

I think this is about the nicest post. Being with your husband and finding something to do while you wait. It's perfect, thankyou, Happy Pink Saturday, Char

ReplyDeleteHi Joyce,
ReplyDeletefirst things first. Prayers go out for your husband.
Like you, I have started to carry a camera with me as well. It's a small flat digi because I cannot stand the one's with all the doo-hickies and doo-dads on them. I get too confused! I have taken some great snaps of pinkness and I can't wait to use them for future Pink Saturday's!

Hi Joyce~ I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. Sounds like you two have faced some major challenges over the last few months! I can't tell you how "tickled pink" I was to have you comment favorably on my pictures! My photography skills, or lack thereof, have become the bane of my existence since I started blogging. I've been working SO hard on following the tips I've gotten from sister bloggers...maybe it's paying off? Yea!!!

Isn't it funny that, once you become a blogger, you always carry your camera with you? Now, if I see someone taking a picture, I start wondering if they are a blogger. I think I need to get a pink Easter hat. laurie
ReplyDeleteSuch cute bunnies. That is a good idea to carry your camera with you. I need to do that.

Best wishes for your husband's journey to low cholesterol and lower weight ... I had the same road to travel a few years ago - and with dedication, determination, and lot of cussing, it will work!

Joyce, You mentioned Evanston. I have a cousin there. I and most of the family are in TX but one aunt married a man from IL and she raised her family in Sterling. One of her sons is there now. It would be a slim chance you would know each other I guess. I attended this aunt's funeral last year and saw some of the area. I like the Easter bunnies and hat but am sorry your hubby is having these problems. I hope the nutrition ides will help. God Bless.
