October 6 Outdoor Wednesday #91

Stone Lake, Wisconsin population of 544 at the 2000 census holds a Cranberry Festival the first week-end of October. There are Craft Vendors, Tours of Cranberry Bogs, Crate Derby, and more. Here are some photographs I took of a Cranberry Bog being flooded.

Photograph One: Zawistowski Cranberry Bogs Sign, Stone Lake, Wisconsin.

Photograph Two: One part of cranberry bog was flooded the other part has cranberries floating. Notice fall color is in background.

Photograph Three: Close-up of Cranberries floating in water.

Photograph Four: Cranberries floating in water plus a cranberry plant. Here are two sites that you can find information about this fest, just in case you would like to attend next year: http://stonelakewi.com and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Lake,_Wisconsin. And that's all folks for now. See you all later.

If you would like to participate or view other blogs who have posted an Outdoor Theme click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/. Thank you Susan for being our hostess.

  4. I would have loved to been able to attend this with you. Small areas sometimes have better activity than the larger ones.
