Saturday a very good friend of mine and I decided to go to the Highwood Pumpkin Fest. We just couldn't believe our eyes when we saw racks and racks and more racks of pumpkins lining the main street which was blocked off for the fest. The goal is to carve 32,000 pumpkins to achieve the Guinness World Record.

Pumpkins are very decorative! Halloween is not a big thing here; just a very few kids going trick-or-treating in the cities. We don't see pumpkins at all, I guess they have to be imported.

ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of pumpkins! Thye are very expensive here on the east coast this year as sadly many were destroyed by Hurricane Irene.
