Quote 598 Alan Watts
"No one imagines that a symphony is supposed to improve in quality as it goes along, or that the whole object of playing it is to reach the finale. The point of music is discovered in every moment of playing and listening to it. It is the same, I feel, with the greater part of our lives, and if we are unduly absorbed in improving them we may forget altogether to live them."

4/24/2013 Outdoor Wednesday #224
If you would like to view blogs who have posted an Outdoor Theme click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/. Thank you Susan for being the hostess.
During Spring Break, my husband and I decided to take the grandchildren on a trip to see a bit of Arizona. Today, I am posting images taken on a climb we made to Eagle's Nest, near Sedona, AZ. Photo number one is water at the Visitor's Center. Notice the colors of the rock formations in this area.
Main path which we did not take.
We crossed this stream via bridge.
Stopped to take a photograph of view during climb.
View at the top of Eagle's Nest.
It was worth the climb up to see this view. To tell you the truth, it was harder going down. I wasn't sure that I wouldn't slip on loose rocks. Lucky for me, I had my older son, helping me down the not so easy path.

4/17 Outdoor Wednesday #223 - Montezuma Castle
If you would like to participate or view Outdoor Themes click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/. Thank you Susan for being the hostess.
During spring break, my husband and I, decided to take our grandchildren to experience a taste of Arizona. We landed in Phoenix then rented a car and our first adventure was to see the Montezuma Castle. This is a Pueble ruin that is over 400 years old. Doesn't it look like an apartment?
When leaving a designated viewing site, I noticed these wild flowers growing. Isn't it amazing how plants can grow even against all odds like little water or soil?
These holes on the mountain side are used by many birds and probably insects and smaller animals to escape the heat of the day. If you like more information regarding Montezuma Castle click here http://www.nps.gov/moca/index.htm.
Looks like one of the visitors had time on their hands and did some creating on their own.
My son, Johnny, captured this lizard. Groups of visitors would gather around this lizard as my son would explain what he knew. Yes, he did release it back so it could survive in its own environment. Our younger grandson (Alex-13 years old) secretly would like to have snuck the lizard on the airplane home; but he was good; didn't do that.
It took us longer than 2 1/2 hours to arrive in Sedona, AZ, where we were staying for a couple of days because of side trips along the way.
Out west the sunsets are this beautiful.
It looks like the sun is winking doesn't it?
Visitor's Tip: Since we are over 62 years old, we purchased a $10 Lifetime Pass. Three people were allowed in FREE as our guests on one pass. As a couple with two Lifetime Passes we were allowed six people FREE as our guests. Note: This Lifetime Pass can not be used as an entrance fee to State Parks.

PINK SATURDAY - April 13, 2013
If you would like to post something PINK or view blogs who have here is where to go: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/. Thank you Beverly for being the hostess for PINK SATURDAY. This week I decided to post this PINK bus located in Willemstead, Curacao. Look through the last window for a glimpse of my husband.
During Spring break we took our grandchildren to see the Grand Canyon in Arizona. We came home to find our younger son, Norm, had been operated on for a strangulated hernia. He spent (17) days, yes I said seventeen days at Skokie Valley Hospital with a blockage and another possible operation. Once he was able to eat real food he was discharged Thursday. What we learned is if you have a hernia go get it taken care of; don't put it off. Yesterday was Johnny's birthday. Johnny met with his doctor and has had a blood test and is trying to decide who should operate on his hernia. Now tell me, how can two sons both have hernias? But ours does!
I want to take time out to thank all those who held Norm in their thoughts and prayers. Thanks be to God!
This week I would like to introduce you to this wonderful but cozy blog: http://pinkbuttercreme.blogspot.com/. This sun room is to die for!
