1/22 Outdoor Wednesday #263

If you would like to participate or view blogs who have posted an Outdoor Theme click here:  http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/.  Thank you Susan for being the hostess.

I have some sad news.   John, my husband, was taking the recycle bin outside, slipped on some ice and fell down the bottom two stairs on December 16th.  After spending seven hours at a nearby hospital, he was released to go home.   His instructions were to wear a leg immobilizer 24/7 and not to bend his knee.  We made appointments with the primary care doctor, the heart doctor and the surgeon.  These doctors took lots of tests:  blood work, EKG, MRI and X-rays of the leg.  John could not be operated on until the wound healed and was not bleeding or swollen.

On December 27th, John was operated on to repair the right quadriceps tendon rupture.  For now he is experiencing a lot of bed rest and physical therapy.  John is using crutches similar to the man in the photograph which I took while we were vacationing in Florida in December 2013.   Isn't that strange?

  5. Oh! I hope it is not bad and he recovers fast.
Ice sheets can be really dangerous.
