Thinking Outside The Box - Paper Stained and Crumbled

"Hennessy began studying an oddly shaped stain on the wall.  It was just above the dormant radiator.   For some reason, he found that he was becoming an expert on wall and door stains.   They were a sort of art form, he had decided --- water, varnish, blood --- the art of the unintentional.   There were important messages that time had etched in wood and plaster if you made the effort to look for them.  And they never let you down or expected more from you than you could give."
