Picket fence, Oakton School, Evanston, Illinois.

My husband and I were going on an errand to pick-up a pair of new glasses for me.   On the way there we discovered this wonderful picket fence.  I requested a photo stop.  John found a safe place to park.  I got out of the SUV and was all excited and took way, I mean way, too many shots but it was worth it   Skies are gray day-after-day but at least we are not shoveling snow.  Look at all the bright colors and all the different faces painted on each picket.  Photography expresses my joy.

January 18, 2017 - Outdoor Wednesday - #419 - Evanston Hospital

Norm, our younger son, picked up a razor to shave and then his hernia popped out and he waited two hours to allow some medication he had on hand to relieve pain but nothing helped so he called us for a ride to the emergency room at Evanston Hospital. We rushed Norm, to the emergency room at Evanston Hospital for his 7th Hernia Operation.  It was performed the next day.

We really liked how Evanston Hospital lets folks in the waiting room know where the patient was in the operating room   

or surgery was finished.

This is a water element in the hospital in the entrance area downstairs from where we were waiting.  The sound of running or flowing water helped calm our nerves a "wee" bit.  There were also fish swimming around in a very large fish tank.  Coffee and tea were offered in the area and magazines to read.

We were told by the surgeon's that they really don't know why our son keeps needing hernia operations because Norm's job does not require heavy lifting.  They said, he must be just prone to it.

I've had life interrupt for many weeks so I haven't been keeping up with my posts on blogger.  Sorry.

January 11, 2017 - Outdoor Wednesday - #418 - ARTEGON Marketplace

Alone, I went on this adventure in Orlando, Florida.  I keyed in the place and address into our Garmin, got on and off the tollway, found the Arts and Crafts Mall and then parked the car.   Breathing in the warm air and walking towards the building, I just knew I was going to like this place.  And so I did.

You ask, where is she?  I am at ARTEGON Marketplace, 5250 International Drive, Orlando, Florida,32819- Phone:  (407) 351-7718, http://www.artegonmarketplace.com/directory/.

One of the first things I noticed was it was an area for children to have fun, as well as, adults.   Bass Pro and Ron Jon Surf Shops are in the same Mall but the part I liked best was how creative every store was and the merchandise was mostly all handmade.  In fact, one woman was designing and making jewelry right in her own store.

To give you an quick idea what it was like notice the sign near the Pizza Restaurant and the signs for the Men's and Ladies' Rest Rooms.

I ended the day drinking juice made inside a whole fresh pineapple.   A person can dream they are in Maui not in Florida can't they?
