Skywatch Friday - Season 4 Episode 11

This bike is being held by guy wires to advertise a Ski and Bike shop located in Spooner, Wisconsin. Looks like a vintage bicycle to me. It has an unusual light up front. I think it is a man's bike it has bars and the color of the bike is blue. I can't help but notice how high the seat has been raised. A tall person must have rode this bike down rural roads. I wonder who owned this bike? How many miles did a person ride this bike? Was it a gift? So what do you think the story is behind bike?

9/23/09 Outdoor Wednesday #37

Abandoned buildings seem to catch my eye. This building is made of brick but the interesting thing are the round holes. One round hole is open while the other round hole has been filled with mortar. The view in the windows intrigued me since they are gone. Shards of glass are not found on the ground only weeds and more weeds. Was this a restaurant? Perhaps it was a bowling alley? If only these brick walls could talk.

Pink Saturday - September 19, 2009

Howdy Folks! I am running a bit late on posting for Pink Saturday. This morning one of our guests treated us to a Buffet Breakfast at Lac Court Oreilles Casino. For travel directions and how to book a room at the LCO Casino here is the information: http://www.lcocasino.com/LCO/index.html.

From the LCO Casino we could make the choice of turning right and a right or turning right and drive straight. We went straight. It depends on how a person looks at it. Since we had an appointment in town it probably was a wrong decision but, since we had never seen anything like this before the moment was turned into a positive event. Highway 77 was blocked off for a while by the State Police to vehicular traffic for a bike event leaving from Hayward bound for Telemark. I guess there are over 3,000 bike riders participating in the event. That was so neat! We were not even late for our meeting.

Since we were in town we decided to do errands and more errands. When we arrived back home, we needed to put away the groceries and get food out of the freezer to prepare for dinner later.

Finally, I have some time to post these lovely Pink Geraniums. My husband purchased this plant at an Ace Hardware Store in Skokie, Illinois. We hauled this plant up north to our Cabin at the Lake. Actually the geraniums have bloomed several times and still are.

It is about 90 degrees up here right now. Talk about a climate change. I can remember when it would rain for two solid weeks up here and be damp and cold. To explain the cold, it was so cold that I felt the chill all the way to the bones. Now that feels cold! Ah, I can't complain about this hot weather because the sun feels good on this old body. Think I will go get an ice cream bar and then look at what other folks have posted for this glorious Pink Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you next week.

9/16/2009 - Outdoor Wednesday - #36

These photographs were taken at Gene's Old Furniture and Antiques located in Weyerhaeuser, Wisconsin. Look at these old trucks and automobiles.

Remember the old wooden knobs on the steering wheels, the stick shifts, and running boards? I admit that I do.
Ah, those were the good old days.
