Pink Saturday-August 15, 2009

Think I'll nibble on some Cherry Cookies and then prop my feet up while checking out other sites that has a Pink theme at: http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/.
Thank you Beverly for being our hostess.

I discovered this lovely Pink Zinnia planted in the gardens at the Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, Wisconsin. The black background was eye catching because it was smooth and rough textured. Shot was taken mid-afternoon during the heat of the day. Notice the small green leaf on the stem.

Read other comments. These are some suggestions I noted on my copy of this recipe:
Use 1 drop of red food color.
Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of Almond Extract.
Frost with cherry juice and powdered sugar or you could use melted chocolate instead.
How about pressing a Dove chocolate in the middle or a Hershey Cordial Kiss.
Use your imagination and be the creative cook that you are.
Thanks for visiting!

  10. Beautiful. I love zinnias. They are so perfect they almost seem fake. You have a beautiful blog. Now, for the fun part... I spend time in Hayward, WI every year and have for the past 22 years! My husband is from Madison and has been vacationing with his family there for over 50 years. I have been to the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame many, many times. So much fun to see a reference to it. I was there in June.

    The cherry cookies sound amazing!
