Thank you Susan for being our hostess.

Photograph of aftermath of sea water on sand.

Photograph of patterns in the sand.

Photograph of more patterns on sand. Background shows the very cloudy day and Lake Michigan.

Lake Michigan waves rolling in and out from shoreline. Notice more patterns in the sand.
On a very cloudy day, I went to Lake Michigan for a photographic shoot. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked down and saw the aftermath of rainwater on sand. This is amazing!

  1. Hello to someone who lives near the big pond! I have noticed sand and patterns, and photographed them, especially at Terry Andre State Park in the snow.

  2. That is just so pretty. It must be very calming to walk in the sand.

  3. The patterns in the sand are well captured. Good for you for spotting this and for taking photos!

  4. Absolutely amazing photography!! I like looking at the patterns in the sand on our beaches too.

My O W is now posted. Today a slide show of us attending the famous Texas King Ranchhand Breakfast. Come see a bit of 'history' if you can.

    It's Here

  5. Joyce, I love all the shots, but that second image looks almost like a painting on the sand. So neat!

    Happy OW to you!

    Sheila :-)

  6. Oh My Gosh...
Isn't God amazing with a paintbrush and water. What he is able to show us each and every day of our lives. This is truly beautiful. Just beautiful. I thank you for sharing this morning. What a special gift.

Stop by soon. I always love the visit. Country hugs...Sherry

  7. Joyce, amazing indeed. All those photos are so serene and perfect. Thanks for sharing.

  8. What wonderful photographs and how much Lake Michigan resembles the ocean ;-)
    Hugs and blessings,
    My Outdoor Wednesday

  9. Amazing is right...I couldn't believe my eyes and thanks for sharing these photos...

  10. These are fascinating images. That eye of yours sees things the rest of us would miss. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  11. Just found your blog! Great shots!

  12. Cool patterns in the sand. Lovely photos.

  13. It looks cold there. There must be some interesting creatures in the sand.

  14. All your sea wall and sand photos are very good. It feels so great walking barefoot in the sand.

  15. Great patterns. I especially love the color/pattern combination in the first photo.

  16. Hi Joyce! Wonderful shots!!

There is a weird bridge waiting for you at Blogtrotter. Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

  17. Beautiful sand patterns, Joyce. The rippling tide often leaves beautiful patterns behind in the sand but these ones are quite spectacular!
