In Chicagoland area we are viewing gray skies one day after another. Here is an image which I took yesterday of sewer pipes steaming. It is hard to tell where the sky and the land separate.
I had to enlarge it to get an idea of what is going on. I'll take it. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteah..we're having the same gray skies. can get depressing but thankfully, the sun is starting to come out after several days of those grays. happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... I thought it was a snow squall!
ReplyDeleteWhoa!

Oh my goodness that's something else. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of steam!
ReplyDeleteHope better skies brighten for you soon.
looks like the "snow sky" we've been seeing here before the onset of some serious white stuff in montana... great shot

one day a couple of summers ago...we were warned of a huge storm that was coming. I ran out to secure things, and move my potted flowers to safer spots (in case of heavy wind or hail) and was taking a few photos of the flower beds so that if they were ruined...I'd at least have a few to compare to...anyways..I did take a few photos of the sky and after we looked at the photos...we could see that the storm clouds actually looked like there was an angry face looking down on our street! It was creeeeepy!
ReplyDeleteI hope the sun starts shining for you soon!
Wow! That simply looks COLD!

Very intriguing - I couldn't work it out at all from the thumbnail on the Skywatch site.
ReplyDeleteAlmost looks like a blizzardm beautiful. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteThat's great.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted photos of gray skies! Most of us most of the time post only those picture-perfect sunny days. But this winter there's been more gray than normal here in CO too, so thanks for showing the sky as it truly is today.
ReplyDeleteYou really can't tell! It is eerily lovely though. I appreciate that you remind us that we can see something interesting n every season if we look hard enough.
ReplyDeleteMostly grey skies are boring, you've made a very special shot of it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
Wow, a different take on skies. I like it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous photo...understated and cool.
ReplyDeleteWow... that is some grey!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots are where you find them, but you have to be there, see them AND have a camera ready. Of course you were totally prepared!
ReplyDeleteI love the "eye" in the first photo. The last one is surreal and very cool. I would have never guessed what it was had you not said. Great capture!
ReplyDeletep.s. I am no longer part of the SWF team. A hard decision based on a too-busy life. I just don't want to get credit where none is due!
Me too! I love the first photo with the unusual 'eye'.
ReplyDeleteMmmm great shot but dull weather. Hope the sun comes soon.
ReplyDeleteI'll rather not driving in such a condition..
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my SWF earlier.
This is a very unique photo Joyce. It's fascinating to see the car disappear into the steam while the presence of the tree and Nature continues to persist in the Moment.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy....
Very unique shot Joyce, excellent pic.
