Pink Saturday - September 12, 2009

Howdy folks! Aren't you excited it is Pink Saturday. Pink Saturday seems to roll around faster and faster as the days go by. I can remember being in second grade thinking how big the fifth graders looked and how much older they were than I while playing baseball. How could we win? Life is all about perspective.

Two Flamingoes near Radisson, Wisconsin. Notice the broken wings. After I saw these I had a smile on my face the rest of the day. It is amazing how simple things can bring us pleasure.

Pink Zinnia taken at Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, Wisconsin, 2009. This happy face washed away all the complaints I was feeling like being hot, hotter and hottest. Instead, I keep walking and enjoyed looking at old motors, antique lures and mounted fish. I asked my husband, John, which motor did your dad own? John showed me three motors. The mounted fish had girths on them that can not be compared to the fish we catch today
..... unless they are in our dreams.

I think I will go check out what other folks have posted that are Pink at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/. Thank you Beverly for being our hostess.

  1. L♥ve your pink goodies this week. Just when I think I have enough pink in my life I participate in Pink Saturday and see even more sweet things I’d enjoy having in my home or flowers for my gardens or just to look at☺ What could be better than the color pink dancing in your head all morning?

Thanks so much for sharing. Hoping your weekend is filled with sunshine and the comfort of those you love and who love you.

  2. Happy Pink Saturday. Love the post. Those flamingos make me smile, and I can imagine how cute they look when the wind is blowing and the wings are spinning. I just love it. The zinnia is just gorgeous. Ofcourse they have always been a fav of mine. They grown fast and can stand up to the Phoenix sun. Love them. This color is so stunning and vivid. God just reached right out and stained it fuschia with his paintbrush. I love it. Thanks for sharing today. Please stop by and let me share my pink post with you. Country hugs, Sherry

  5. Hi Joyce,
Thank you for stopping by. I grew up in the Midwest and am very familiar with Hayward and that area of the world. Spent some time on Big Sissabagama through the years as well as other lakes in that area.

I also adore zinnias...they were such a "staple" in the gardens of my growing up years. Such a lovely flower. I peeked around in your blog and loved the photo of the barn. You captured it so beautifully!
