Pink petals arranged into a heart shape, Bridge of Flowers, Shelburne Falls, MA - 2011.
I couldn't believe that I walked across a bridge of flowers. It was like visiting a Botanic Gardens but on a smaller scale. It was breathtaking. Nearby was a waterfall and ancient glacier pot holes. Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts is definately a place to put on your "bucket list."
Thanks for visiting. Do come back.

This sign speaks for itself.
I went to the Wilmette beach recently and discovered fog and high winds. These empty life guard chairs just screamed take this photograph. And so, I did.

Thinking Outside the Box
Parking Meters reflection in window. Frame is interesting too with a screw or nut and bolt painted over how many times? Notice the cracks and lines on the bottom of the frame. Look how many times window frames repeat themselves in the photograph. Even the parking meters seem to be lined up for a relay race. Image seems a bit eerie if you ask me.

"Every composer knows the anguish and despair occasioned by forgetting ideas which one had no time to write down."
...Hector Berlioz
(1803-1869)

Note to myself: I remember so many times I will be at a stop light and so many ideas pop into my head. I carry a small notebook in the glove compartment for just this occasion; but by the time I get it out, the light turns green and off on the errand then when I get home all those marvelous ideas are gone. Sometimes, a germ is left for me to chew on and it will become a poem, a sentence, a paragraph, a chapter, a short story.
Does this happen to you?

Pink Azeleas, Hubbard Park, Meriden, CT - 2011.
This week it was in the 90s here. Then we experienced dark, rainy, windy, chilly weather for two days Thursday and Friday. Hopefully, the week-end will be nice. Only time will tell.
Of course, during the heat wave our window air-conditioners decided to break down. So we had to go shopping for two new ones. One air-conditioner was put in the first floor window. Other air-conditioner will be put in the upstairs window at another time. Project took longer than planned.
Thank you Norm and John (our sons) for the much needed gift. We love you and appreciate you both.
Thanks for visiting my blog. See you next week. Until then, take care.

Wilmette Harbor, IL-May 25, 2011.
Person walking on Wilmette beach- IL, Lake Michigan only around 2 1/2 weeks ago if that. Notice how windy it is.
Person leaning over to pick-up something. Perhaps it was either a rock, pieces of driftwood, or it could have been a feather. Photo taken at Wilmette Beach, Lake Michigan, IL-May 2011.
I was wearing my parka and gloves when these photos were taken. It must have been below freezing with the wind factor. Today it is in the 90s. Our area went, I think, from winter to summer. What happened to spring?
So glad you stopped by. I hope you will visit again soon. Meanwhile, take care.

Thinking Outside the Box
My husband loves to eat bananas. I usually keep a lot of bananas on hand. Instead of being offered in a plastic bowl, I present bananas in a 100 year old wooden bowl which was probably his grandmother's. He can access fresh fruit daily. Underneath the bowl is a round ecru lace tablecloth. This image was done using the program Picnik. Oh what fun it is to enhance reality and turn it into something entirely different.
