Pink Saturday - June 11, 2011

Pink Azeleas, Hubbard Park, Meriden, CT - 2011.

This week it was in the 90s here. Then we experienced dark, rainy, windy, chilly weather for two days Thursday and Friday. Hopefully, the week-end will be nice. Only time will tell.

Of course, during the heat wave our window air-conditioners decided to break down. So we had to go shopping for two new ones. One air-conditioner was put in the first floor window. Other air-conditioner will be put in the upstairs window at another time. Project took longer than planned.

Thank you Norm and John (our sons) for the much needed gift. We love you and appreciate you both.

Thanks for visiting my blog. See you next week. Until then, take care.

  3. Hi Joyce, what a gorgeous photo. I hope your new air cond. is doing the job of keeping you comfortable. Since we are in Maine on vacation we have not had the hot weather at all.
Stay cool and happy pink Saturday.

  4. Your extreme weather in America must be hard to cope with although it does provide you with some beautiful flowers of all types.

  5. HAPPY PINK SATURDAY JOYCE,
    The pink azeleas are beautiful.
    I LOVE the photograph.
I can certainly relate to the heat...our little town for 2 days had the hottest temp of 102 IN OUR STATE...and it is not even July yet.
I SOMEHOW LOST BOTH MY BLOGS AND SO LAST NIGHT i STARTED A NEW ONE. I lost over 500 followers between the 2 blogs and that was like loosing family members. My photographs still are not showing up.
I so hope they get things fixed. I would be so honored if you joined my new blog.

  7. Hi Joyce,

Happy Pink Saturday. Your azelea photo is gorgeous! The brilliant pink really shows up against the rich, green background of the grass. What changeable weather you're having. It's been kind of crazy in North Carolina, too. We've already had record high temps in May; this week it was extremely hot and we had hail storms Thursday and Friday. I'm glad you got your new air conditioners!

Thanks for visiting my blog and taking time to leave a kind comment. Enjoy your weekend.

  10. This time of the year, a lot of people have air conditioning issues. I had to have freon put in mind. I love this shot of the tree and the pretty azaleas in bloom on the hillside.

  11. I love azaleas. When we lived in Mississippi, they grew the size of trees. Here in the mountains the deer like to nibble on them and they don't grow as well.

I know it's been unusually hot up your way. I'm a southern girl and should be used to the heat. Funny -- the hottest I've ever been was in New York City in June years ago. I was never able to cool off and we lived in Houston at the time.

Happy pink Saturday and thanks for stopping by my kitchen. It's my pleasure to meet you.
