11/30 Outdoor Wednesday - #151
If you would like to participate or view other blogs who have posted an Outdoor Theme click here: http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/. Thank you Susan for being the hostess.
I was taking nature images, when all of a sudden I sensed this presence. I stopped what I was doing and looked around then I saw this deer crossing the road and then it went into the field for a curious look at me and then it disappeared.
I had visited THE GROVE, Glenview, IL on Saturday for a Holiday Sale. I saw nature shots and figured I'll go back Sunday. And so I did. Seeing this deer made my day complete.
For more information about THE GROVE click here: http://glenviewparks.org/index.php/facilities-parks/the-grove.
So happy you stopped by to visit. Hope you will stop by next week. Meanwhile, take care.

Thinking Outside the Box
Leaf Study.
Edgar Degas, an artist, studied ballet. I found this one lonely leaf at the beach. One rainy day I edited the original image in a program called Picnik. For me, this is a leaf study; but then I am no Degas.
I prefer going outside and shooting with my camera; but using a digital imaging program is a lot of fun, a lot of hard work and sometimes doesn't work. Then I hit the delete key. Other images I save such as this one. Ta Da!
I am so thankful for this opportunity to be able to take a photograph, then think, think, think, like Pooh Bear until what I visualize is outside the box thinking.

Sunrise, Lake Michigan - 2011
Sat.
Thinking.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Allowing nature to speak; as I listened.
Suddenly I heard .... l-o-v-e-l-y.
Who broke the silent moment; quietly I laughed because I thought,
could it be the Great Oz?
It dawned on me oh the Coast Guard speaker system was on.

Lessons I Have Learned
You do not have to explain yourself to anyone.
Betty Anderson (God Bless Her Soul) taught me this lesson. After her husband died, each of her five children were able to start and finish a college education. Betty retired from a company where she had worked for over 25 years.

Howdy! Recently, one of my errands was to pick up a few things at Pier One. As I pulled into the parking lot, lo and behold, these flowers that look like cabbages
and these colorful yellow mums seemed to be asking Why not take a picture of me?" Camera was handy. So I did.
Then, just as I was packing equipment away, I looked up and saw the sun breaking through the clouds. Just couldn't resist taking shot number three. Don't these branches look like they are applauding or saying "Thank you?"
It was a gorgeous day today. Actually it was unusually warm for this time of year. Tonight a harvest moon graced the skies. Tomorrow temperatures are expected to drop. And so it is.
It was so nice of you to stop by and visit. See you next week. Meanwhile, I hope you will take care.

Howdy Folks! I decided to post old rusty lanterns taken at Gene's Used Furniture and Antiques, Gene Hause, Prop., W14337 Hwy. 8, Weyerhaeuser, WI 54895. Think I'll go boil some hot water and have a cup of tea while visiting other Outdoor Wednesday posts.
It was nice of you to stop. Meanwhile, take care and I hope to see you next week.
Enjoyed a pizza and some pasta with a friend at California Pizza (first visit). Both main dishes were delicious! Later went in and out of stores on Central Street in Evanston. Saw some Christmas present ideas. Bonnie, my hairdresser, cut off split ends and did a body perm to my hair yesterday. Now my hair looks like Farrah Fawcett's just a wee bit. In my dreams...tee hee.
Later, I enjoyed a pumpkin spice coffee at Dunkin Donuts with family members. Yummy!
My husband and I always watch Monday Night Football except for when we don't. Da Bear's won! One play was spectacular. Cutler fell down, spun around then stood up threw the football and guess what the receiver caught the pass. I was impressed.
And then, we watched the Kennedy mini series. I was taping OPRAH's Life Class and the Kennedy mini series. So we were locked out of DIRECT TV. I learned that you can not tape two shows and watch a third show besides. What a rip!

Music speaks to my soul
This week-end Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Society of the Divine Word, Techny, Illinois was the place to go listen to the Chicago Master Singers. Some of the participants have volunteered for more than twenty years to this group. Alan Heatherington is the music director.
My friend Magda and I were privileged to hear pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonin Dvorak. Luckily the texts were in Latin and English.
